Step onto the luxurious SeaStradbroke catamaran car ferry for 9am departure. As this ferry is a catamaran it is extremely stable and does not roll in standard conditions which greatly reduces any chance of sea sickness for customers who are prone. Once on board the ferry we have a scrumptious morning food selection of French pastries, cake, biscuits and tea, coffee, soft drinks etc. Customers are then invited to be shown around the luxury ferry and can meet the Captain and even sit in his chair and sail the ship or some customers prefer to enjoy the ferry journey themselves giving it a romantic touch!! Dolphins are often seen surfing the bow wave during the 40 minute trip and sometimes whales even come into the bay which makes the views to Stradbroke Island, Moreton Island, Brisbane and the Gold Coast from the top deck even more breath taking.
We arrive on North Stradbroke at the historical port of Dunwich where we get some fantastic views after taking a great little 4WD track to the top of the mountain. Views go all the way from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast and can be up to 200 kilometers!
We then go to Brown Lake via what is known as the “Grass Trees Track” where the landscape transforms to a sea of these extremely old trees that are never seen in a quantity like this. We also tell our customers how the Australian Bush has been shaped by the Aboriginal way of life giving hands on example that all customers find very interesting. Come on the tour to find out more of our trade secrets here!!!!
Lunch is very relaxing as we wait on our customers under our vehicle awning as they enjoy a selection of hot or cold seafood, chicken, burgers, fries and salad served with beer, wine, softdrinks and juice.
Then it’s a beautiful drive along Flinders Beach to Southbank where we stop to show some quicksand that’s got a view only 4km to another smaller island called Moreton Island. This area here is absolutely spectacular for swimming as can be seen with the Romantic Beach Rendezvous flyer.
The area has to be seen to be believed as the water is a beautiful clear sparkling green in the inside and the surf on the other only 100 meters away. Views go to Point Lookout and back to Brisbane City.
Amity Point Jetty is our next stop when we perform our popular Straddie Snorkelling Tours. Our snorkeling tours incorporate as much of the “Full Island Day Tour” as possible and up to 1.5 hours of snorkeling which includes views of sand sharks (non-aggressive), beautiful tropical fish, eels and more.
A relaxing drive to Myora Springs takes us to a popular spot where a large volume of fresh water flows out of the mountain down to Moreton Bay. Its extremely spiritually significant to the aboriginals. We then go back down towards Dunwich but before, we visit the Little Ships Club ( commonly known as 1 Mile) for a quick trip back into Straddies history.
Boarding the ferry at 3.15pm for the return journey back to Cleveland makes it a comfortable day as we arrive back at Cleveland at 4.00pm. 4.45pm is the approximate return time back to your hotel doorstep at Brisbane city where we give the customers as much of the days fresh fish and other ‘goodies’ as possible!!
